We will sleep under the open sky, in the middle of nature, and discover the authenticity of the Delta not only through landscapes, but also through taste — local cuisine, authentic, completing the experience.

Personal expenses: Payments in Romania are made in the local currency (Romanian Leu – RON). We recommend having cash, as card payments are not available in remote areas of the Delta.

• Food for the entire period (breakfast, lunch, dinner – brought individually)
• Camping equipment – 50 lei (subject to availability)

Meals & food organization:
During the tour, meals are not included. For breakfast and lunch, each participant brings their own supplies: sandwiches, canned food, jars, etc., and for quick consumption during kayaking, snacks such as protein bars or nut mixes are recommended.
In the evening, we have the option to order traditional food cooked by locals from Mila 23 and delivered directly by boat.
A full menu (100 lei/person) includes:
• soup (fish borscht, storceag or fish meatball soup)
• main course (brine fish, stew or fried fish)
• dessert
• water, wine or țuică
Water, cold beer, soft drinks or other items can also be ordered from the village shop and delivered in the evening with the food — an important advantage to reduce kayak load.

Weather: Danube Delta in May: 18°C – 26°C, generally stable and pleasant, with occasional short spring rains. Wind may be present, especially on open lakes.

Transport: Transfer Bucharest – Tulcea is done by minibus or car (depending on group size). For participants from outside Bucharest, the transfer is done with a private vehicle, and the cost is reduced by 150 lei/person.
Transfer within the Delta is done by motorboat and takes approximately one hour. Departure is at 08:30 from Nova Marina parking, Tulcea.

Required skills: The route is suitable for people with average physical condition, no prior kayaking experience required, starting with a 4–5 hour introductory route to get familiar with paddling. The difficulty level is easy–medium, covering 12–20 km per day at a relaxed pace, with regular breaks. The route may be adjusted depending on weather, water levels and participant experience.

Kayak equipment: Sit-In kayaks (single or tandem), designed for longer tours, offering stability and comfort, equipped with waterproof storage compartments. Each kayak can carry up to approximately 120 kg (person + luggage). Equipment includes kayak, paddle, life jacket, spraydeck (a “skirt” that protects legs from rain, sun, wind, insects, etc.).

Camping equipment: Tent, sleeping mat/air mattress, sleeping bag, inflatable pillow. Equipment can be rented from us (subject to availability) – 50 lei / tour, or from specialized providers (e.g. ncort.ro). Personal tableware (bowl/plate, cutlery) – preferably lightweight.

3-Day Program

Day 1
Entering the world of the Delta

The meeting takes place in Piața Victoriei (upper parking) at 04:00, from where we depart to Tulcea by minibus, with a short stop along the way. We arrive at the pier around 08:30, and shortly after we board the boat for the transfer to the camping location for the first night.

Once we arrive, we unload the luggage, have a short briefing and some time to get familiar, then we launch the kayaks. A 4–5 hour introductory route follows, ideal for getting used to paddling.

We will navigate through narrow channels, lakes and wild areas full of reeds and wildlife, at a relaxed pace, with breaks for rest, meals and moments of relaxation on shore.

In the evening, we set up camp, where we enjoy dinner and the quiet of the Delta under the open sky.

Day 2
Wild lakes and canals

In the morning, we pack the tents, have breakfast and prepare the kayaks for a new day on the water. We load the equipment and continue through a labyrinth of wild lakes and canals, where the Delta reveals its most authentic side.

We paddle at a relaxed pace, exploring areas otherwise hard to reach, among reeds, calm waters and rich wildlife, covering approximately 15–18 km, with breaks for rest, meals and quiet moments in nature.

By evening, we reach the area of Lake Băclăneștii Mari, where we set up camp for the second night and enjoy dinner and the unique atmosphere of the Delta.

Day 3
Return from the heart of the Delta

We start a shorter route towards the village of Mila 23, following the Războinţa channel and the areas of Lakes Văcaru and Ligheanca. After the last hours of paddling, we arrive in the village, where we prepare our luggage and enjoy a traditional local lunch.

Around 14:00–16:00 we board the boat for the transfer back to Tulcea, and from there we continue the journey to Bucharest (approx. 4 hours). Arrival is estimated between 20:00–22:00.
